MISSION:
The mission of the Falmouth Veterans Collaborative is to bring service and support to the Veterans of Falmouth, Mashpee, Bourne, and Sandwich, as well as the members of the Wampanoag Tribe. The Collaborative attempts to identify, explore, develop, and implement new Veteran support mechanisms in the form of collaborative efforts. The Falmouth Veterans Collaborative is a voluntary organization intended to support Veterans, the spouses of deceased Veterans, and the families of Veterans. It also serves as a conduit between Veterans and other major experienced Veterans support organizations such as the Cape Cod Veterans Outreach Center or Veterans Administration in our local area.

The members of the Collaborative have and will continue to provide Veteran Services and Support, i.e., Financial aid for specialty wheelchairs; roof replacement, yard cleanup; specialty furniture replacement; kitchen and bathroom re-builds; being a major contributor to the Memorial Day and Veterans Day luncheons; food cards for Veterans, which are provided to and distributed by the Falmouth Veterans Agent; the assembly and distribution of Christmas packages for hospitalized Veterans and those in assisted living facilities. The Falmouth Veterans Collaborative has maintained a cooperative agreement with the Cape Cod Veterans Outreach Center since January 2021. It provides a gateway for counseling and other services to area Veterans by referral to the Cape Cod Veterans Outreach Center.

COFFEE AND CONVERSATION
This is a long-standing event supported by the Falmouth Veterans Collaborative, the Falmouth Elks Lodge, and the generosity of several local businesses for the last 11 years. This event is held every 2nd Saturday from 9 AM – 11 AM at the Elks Lodge on Palmer Avenue and is open to all veterans, spouses, and families. This event frequently has a guest speaker, and the topics range from current events VA benefits and, occasionally, a history lesson.
THE FOOD PANTRY
This joint effort between the Falmouth Veterans Collaborative and the Cape Cod Veterans Outreach Center. It is held every month on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays at AMVETS Post 70, located at 336 Palmer Avenue. The Food Pantry is available from 10 AM to 1 PM. This service is available to all Veterans, the spouses of deceased Veterans, and their families. Registration for the Food Pantry can be had by calling (508) 778-1590 Extension #3.
HAIRCUTS FOR VETERANS
On Wednesday, of each week, from 4:30 PM – 6:30 PM at the AMVETS Post 70, upstairs, Mr. Frank Berg, an experienced barber for 40 years, will be providing free haircuts for Veterans. To schedule an appointment, call (508) 548-8288.
VETERANS TRANSPORTATION
Transportation for medical and other crucial appointments can be obtained through the Cape Cod Veterans Outreach Center. The destinations can range from Providence, Boston, Worcester, Hyannis, and other points. Requirements to access this service include making a request at least 48 hours in advance (two business days) and requires registration with the Cape Cod Veterans Outreach Center. Requests must be made by phone between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM by calling (508) 778-1590 Extension #9.
